Signs of the End Times

Are we living in the end of days?

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”

 – Holy Bible: Matthew 24:42

There is an increasing awareness among the people of the world, from all different religious backgrounds and faiths, that we might be living in the prophesied End Times. If you are in doubt, please have a look at the following End Times Signs so that you may ascertain that the End Times are not just approaching but it is already here, and therefore, looking for the prophesied Saviour would be a duty upon every God-conscious sincere truth seeker. The End Times; the hour; the last days; doomsday; eschaton; these are all different titles for a time period described in several world religions (both Abrahamic and non-Abrahamic) when the world reaches a final stage in which evil prevails over good, and a World Saviour appears.

In Judaism, the term “end of days” refers to the Messianic Age, during which the righteous will be resurrected and the Mashiach appears to finally save the Jewish people. In Christianity, the End Times is depicted as a period of tribulations which precedes the second coming of Jesus Christ who will face off against the Antichrist and usher in the Kingdom of God. In Islam, the End Times is when the Antichrist Dajjal appears and is defeated by the Mahdi who fills the Earth with justice and equity as it was filled with oppression and tyranny. In Hinduism, the End Times depicts a period when Kalki, the last incarnation of Vishnu, brings an end to the current strife and discord (the age of Kali Yuga), ushering in an age of righteousness and goodness (the age of Satya Yuga). In Buddhism, the Buddha predicted that there will come an age of turmoil where his teachings would be forgotten and unworked with.

A bodhisattva named Maitreya will appear and rediscover the teaching of dharma ushering in a new golden age. Maitreya appears in an age of degeneration of human society, a period of greed, poverty, ill will, violence, murder, impiety, physical weakness, and societal collapse.

The list goes on and on. Prophets and Messengers of different religions and faiths have always left signs and clues about the End Times. These clues have often been cryptic and impossible to understand, and for thousands of years, these signs have remained as so.

The list goes on and on. Prophets and Messengers of different religions and faiths have always left signs and clues about the End Times. These clues have often been cryptic and impossible to understand, and for thousands of years these signs have remained as so.

Only in the last hundred years, in our modern world, have these signs begun to make sense, as we quickly see them come to pass, one after the other. The world has suddenly and rapidly spun out of control. The environment is collapsing. Wars, famine, and natural disasters are wreaking havoc on the people. And morality and spirituality are at an all-time low. Is it all just a big coincidence? There is no such thing as coincidence. The state of the world today was predestined and prophesied many centuries ago. The events of recent history prove that we are living in the end of days.

Even though we can find different End Times signs across the world religions, the major signs for the End Times are pretty much the same in all of them. Take a look at the following fulfilled End Times signs.

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
NATURAL DISASTERS

One of the most common End Times signs in all of the world religions is the deterioration of the state of the planet. Natural disasters will increase in number and bring about mass destruction.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) said: “Lightnings/Thunders will increase when the Hour approaches, so much so that a man would ask, “Who was struck this morning?” So they would answer him saying, “So and so”

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, 1st ed., p.162, hadith 185 (online book)

– Musnad Ahmad, v.18, p.163, hadith 11620

“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

– Holy Bible: Luke 21:25-28

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed, “the number of natural disasters has nearly quadrupled since 1970.” To give you a better idea of the rate of increase of the events, consider this: Since 1900, more than 9,000 natural disasters have been registered; Of these, 80% have occurred over the last 30 years. That statistic is staggering.

Are the seas roaring? Yes. Hundreds of thousands of people are being wiped out by Tsunamis and floods, and the people are fearing what is happening to this planet.

According to a 2021 BBC report, “The number of weather-related disasters to hit the world has increased five-fold over the past 50 years, says the World Meteorological Organization…” (source)

Scientists believe the uptick in natural disasters has been brought on by global climate change. As temperatures have risen across the globe, natural disasters related to weather and water extremes have risen as well.

“In the 50 years between 1970 and 2019, there were more than 11,000 such disasters, according to a new atlas from the WMO that charts the scale of these events.” (source)

EARTHQUAKE | CHINA
WILDFIRE | USA
MONSOON | INDIA

The year 2017, alone, was a devastating year with natural disasters such as catastrophic floods, wildfires, monsoons, typhoons, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions, affecting millions of people across the globe – from the flood, which devastated more than 14 million people in central China, to the massive wildfire in California, which scorched more than 440 square miles of land. We are most surely seeing an increase in weather-related disasters (source), and tornadoes (source), and other natural disasters like volcanoes.

Hurricanes can be predicted and tracked weeks in advance, and even tornados, monsoons and blizzards at least have seasons. But earthquakes strike entirely without warning.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) said: “The hour will not begin until knowledge is taken away and many earthquakes occur.”

– Fath Al-Bari, hadith 989

The Bible also states that in the End Times, earthquakes will appear “in diverse places.” (Holy Bible: Matthew 24:7). The evidence clearly shows that earthquakes are not only increasing in frequency but also appearing in different locations as predicted by the Bible. Some of the deadliest quakes of the past decade struck Nepal, Peru, Pakistan, China, Indonesia and Chile. History shows that the number of earthquakes remained fairly constant until the 1950s – averaging between two and four per decade. But this statistic has been steadily increasing every decade since. Take a look at the following records for example. New Zealand felt a record 32,000 earthquakes in 2016. We had a millennium’s worth of earthquakes in just 2 years during 2014 and 2015. Big earthquakes have doubled in 2014 compared to each year since 1979 (source). There was a global surge in great earthquakes between 2004 – 2014 (source). And as of June 2019, statistics show around 3,353 earthquakes happening a month. The current graphs and statistics show a shocking worldwide trend of earthquakes becoming stronger and more frequent (source).

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
WARS

One of the key signs of the end of days is the increase of wars on the planet. In Buddhism, Maitreya, the saviour who comes in the End Times to restore and teach the pure teachings of Gautama Buddha, comes in age when mankind wars with itself and bloodshed becomes widely spread. Also in the Bible it is written,

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”

– Holy Bible: Matthew 24:6-7

According to narrations, Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) described modern warfare when he spoke of End Times signs. He (pbuhahf) said,

“…the iron will run on the air’s back, and fire will be rained upon them, and the people of Earth will die, five from seven”

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, 1st ed., p.161, hadith 181 (online book)

In various religions, it is described that conflicts, chaos, murder, and war will involve the whole earth in the End Times. And who can deny that this prophecy has, indeed, come true? Someone might argue that war is not a sign of the End Times because there have always been wars since the beginning of time. But what is different about this age we are living in is the frequency and intensity of wars, which have reached shocking unprecedented levels. If we examine the past 100 years, it is clear that the scope of war has changed dramatically. During the 20th century alone, more people have been killed as a result of war than all the previous centuries combined. Today there are wars taking place all around the world (Source), and not just regional wars like the case was before the 20th century. In 2011, armed conflicts have significantly increased all around the world (Source)

Imam Ali (pbuh) said: “And indeed the atom will burn the world”.

And he (pbuh) said: “Indeed there will be fire from the atom”

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, p.161, no. 182 (online book)

This is a clear reference to nuclear weapons, which have only existed in recent history. The devastation of these weapons is just as Imam Ali (pbuh) described. Less than a century ago, the atomic weapons completely demolished Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUHAHF) SAID: “…THE IRON WILL RUN ON THE AIR’S BACK, AND FIRE WILL BE RAINED UPON THEM…“
IMAM ALI (PBUH) SAID: “INDEED THERE WILL BE FIRE FROM THE ATOM.”

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
FAMINE

In today’s world, it is estimated that a person dies of hunger or hunger-related causes every ten seconds. While there is a happy minority which has more than it needs, there are a considerable number of people struggling with the problems of poverty and destitution, despite the possibilities afforded by advanced technology, and even though there is plenty of food in the world for everyone. Millions of people in Africa, Asia, South America and Eastern Europe go hungry every single day. Famines in various places are one of the signs that Jesus (pbuh) mentioned regarding the End Times (Matthew 24:7). Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him and his family when he described the End Times, he said,

Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) said: “…people will suffer severe famine.”

– Sunan Ibn Majah, Book of Tribulations, hadith 4077

In the world today, poverty has reached grave proportions. The last report by UNICEF stated that one in four people of the world’s population lives in “unimaginable suffering and want.” 1.3 billion of the world’s people survive on less than $1 a day. 3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on $2 a day. Approximately 1.3 billion people lack safe water. 2.6 billion people are without access to adequate sanitation. It is an undoubted fact that starvation around the world is increasing and spreading to levels the world has never witnessed before (Source)

EVERY 10 SECONDS A PERSON DIES FROM A HUNGER-RELATED ILLNESS

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
ANIMAL MASS EXTINCTION

It is written in the Old Testament that the end of days would see a large number of mass animal deaths. This certainly has become a relatively recent phenomenon.

“Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: “There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Because of this the land dries up, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea are swept away.”

– Holy Bible: Hosea 4:1-3

Throughout history, we have never seen animals dying at such an alarming rate as we see today. In 2018 alone, there have been 190 mass animal death events spread across 50 countries. The earth and seas are so polluted now from man-made chemicals and oil spills, that it seems the animals have little chance for survival. Since 2010, millions of fish have been turning up dead in lakes, rivers, and the sea. Birds have been dropping out of the sky in huge numbers. Honeybees deaths are a crisis the world is currently facing, as up to 50% of bees are dying in today’s world (Source). Unusual animal deaths have been witnessed all around the world. Mass animal die-offs, in the billions, are on the rise (Source)

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
PLANES, TRAINS, & AUTOMOBILES

Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) lived nearly fourteen centuries ago. Historical records show that, when the Quran was revealed, society did not have the technology to conduct investigations of the world or the universe. But the prophet (pbuhahf), in the 7th century, revealed several startling truths about the future. These prophecies were puzzling to the people of that period, but today, thanks to the technological advances made within the past two centuries, the words of Ahlulbayt (pbut) are clear and uncannily accurate.

Imam Ali (pbuh) said: “The iron will fly in the air, and iron will walk on iron”

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, 1st ed., p.146, no.142 (online book)

In 1804, the first full-scale working railway steam locomotive was built in the United Kingdom, moving “iron upon iron”. And on December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers made four brief flights in their first powered aircraft, allowing “iron to fly through the air”.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said: “In the end of this nation there will be men who will ride in vehicles until they reach the doors of their mosques…”

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, 1st ed., p.140, no.129 (online book)

Who, in this day and age, does not travel to their mosque by vehicle?

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY & SOCIAL MEDIA

Ahlulbayt (pbut) narrated:
“There will come a time, who is in the east will hear and see who is in the west and vice versa.

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, 1st ed., p.147, no.145 (online book)

Today, communication technology allows people to not only speak to one another from any location in the world, we now can see one another anytime and anywhere. Imam Aba Abdillah (pbuh) said:

“Verily, during the age of the Qa’im, the believer in the east will see his brother who is in the west, and the believer in the west will see his brother who is in the east”.

– Bihar Al-Anwar, Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi, 3rd ed., v.52, p.391, hadith 213

– Mo’jam Ahadeeth Al-Imam Al-Mahdi, Ali Al-Korani, 1st ed., v.4, p.56, hadith 1130 (Online book: p.55)

Social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube have allowed believers to gather and to see one another from all four corners of the earth, fulfilling yet another prophecy about the End Times that was never understood until our modern age today.

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
THE DESICCATION OF THE SEA OF NAJAF & THE DEATH OF KING ABDULLAH OF SAUDI ARABIA

Imam Al-Baqir (pbuh) said: “If the Sea of Najaf dries up and a hundred years have passed after that, then wait for a man. It was said, ‘And who is he, O son of the Messenger of Allah?’ He said ‘Meem and Ha and Meem and Dal’ (Arabic letters MHMD)”, meaning Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan Al-Askari (pbuh).

– Bayan Al-A’imma, Muhammad Mahdi Najafi, 2nd ed., v.1, p.203 (referenced from the manuscript ‘Al-Ramz Al-Khafi’ by Al-Helli)

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, 1st ed., p.169, no. 205 (online book)

The sea of Najaf started to desiccate in the year 1887, and the desiccation was completed in the year 1915. A hundred years after 1915 is 2015, which is the year that Imam Mahdi (pbuh) appeared, on January 23rd, fulfilling another prophecy from Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) where he said:

The Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said: “Hijaz will be ruled by a man whose name is the name of an animal, if you see him from far, you would think he’s crossed-eyed, and if you come close to him, you do not see anything (wrong) in his eyes. He will be succeeded by a brother of his, named Abdullah. Woe to our Shia (followers) from him!” – He repeated it three times – “Give me the glad tidings of his death and I give you the glad tidings of the appearance of the Hujjah (Imam Mahdi).”

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, p.121, no. 88 (online book)

The man whose name is like that of an animal, is King Fahd of Saudi Arabia (whose name means Leopard), and sure enough, he had this very rare condition in his eyes where if you looked at him from far away he looked like he is crossed eyed, but when you would come closer to him his eyes looked normal. Then, against the regular line of succession in the royal Saudi family, the one who became the king after his death was his brother Abdullah.

On the very same day that king Abdullah, the king of Saudi Arabia, died, on the 23rd of January 2015, twelve men came forth giving the glad tidings of the appearance of Imam Al-Mahdi (pbuhahf). Those same 12 men have also been mentioned centuries ago by Imam al-Sadiq (pbuh) who said:

“The Qa’im does not rise until 12 men emerge, all of them gather upon the saying that they have seen him, but they are belied.”

– Al-Ghayba, Ibn Abi Zainab Al-No’mani, 1st ed., p.285, hadith 58 (Online book: p.283)

– Bihar Al-Anwar, Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi, 3rd ed., v.52, p.244, hadith 121

Also in the narration of Imam Al-Sadiq (pbuh) to Abu Baseer:

“Whoever guarantees for me the death of Abdullah, I will guarantee for him the Qa’im. When Abdullah dies, the people will not gather/agree on anyone after him, and this matter will not end except by your Companion (The Qaim) God willing, and the kingdom of years will be over, and it will become the kingdom of months and days” So I asked: “Will it be long after that?” He (pbuh) said: “No”.

– Bihar Al-Anwar, Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi, v.52, p.210, hadith 54

So Imam Al-Sadiq (pbuh) also guarantees to us that the Qa’im appears not long after King Abdullah’s death. And most certainly, on the very same day of his death, the prophesied twelve men came forth giving the glad tidings of the appearance of the Mahdi, proving that they are indeed from Imam Ahmad Al-Hassan (fhip) the representative of Muhammad (pbuhahf) in this age because none but Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) or someone who represents him could give this glad tiding as the Prophet (pbuhahf) has attributed it to himself as mentioned in the aforementioned narration.

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
ELECTIONS IN IRAQ

The Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said: “Woe, woe to my nation in the Major and Minor Shura (elections).” So he (pbuhahf) was asked about them, so he (pbuhahf) said: “As for the major Shura (elections), it will take place in my town, after my death, in order to usurp the Successorship of my brother and the right of my daughter. And as for the minor Shura (elections), it will take place during the greater Ghaybah (absence), in al-Zawraa’ (Baghdad), in order to change my Sunnah and replace my rulings.”

– 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, 1st ed., p.129-130, no.107 (online book)

The major elections refer to the events that occurred after the death of Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf) in which Umar ibn Al-Khattab and Abu Bakr usurped the right of successorship of Imam Ali (pbuh) and the right of his wife the daughter of the Prophet, Lady Fatima Al-Zahraa (pbuh). The minor elections refer to the elections that took place in Iraq in 2005, the land where Imam Mahdi (pbuh) and Imam Ahmad Al-Hassan (fhip) were born. These elections defied the sunnah of Muhammad (pbuhahf), which is the Supremacy of God. This means only God chooses the ruler. Under the Iraqi constitution of 1925, Iraq was a constitutional monarchy with a bicameral legislature consisting of an elected House of Representatives and an appointed Senate. The first parliament met in 1925 and 10 general elections were held before the monarchy was overthrown in 1958. However, this supposed system of elections was deeply corrupt. The King and his advisors, who were Sunni Muslims, manipulated the elections to ensure that the Shia majority were blocked from taking power.

Persecution of the Shia only worsened under the series of military governments, which dominated Iraq from 1958 to 2003. But none was worse than the regime of Saddam Hussein, of the Ba’ath Party, who came to power in 1979. All elections held during this period were purely for show. The reign of Saddam came to a crashing halt in 2003 when a multinational force overthrew his government and installed an interim administration. The pretext of the invasion was to oust Saddam Hussein and install a “true democracy” for the first time in Iraq’s history. On January 30, 2005, the government held elections to begin the process of writing a new constitution. International groups praised the January 2005 elections as the first free elections in Iraq’s history, which was during the greater absence of Imam Al-Mahdi (pbuhahf) as prophesied by Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf). Ahlulbayt (pbut) have always left signs for those who are willing to see them. And they have delivered a grave warning about what is to come.

SADDAM HUSSEIN RULED FROM 1979 TO 2003

SADDAM HUSSEIN WAS OVERTHROWN IN 2003

IN JANUARY 2005, IRAQ HAD ITS FIRST FREE ELECTIONS

Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (pbuh) said: “And the house of rulership shall return to Al Zawraa’ (Baghdad), and the matters shall be handled through the Shura (elections), whoever dominates over a matter shall do it. It is at that point that Al-Sufyani will emerge and travel the land for nine months during which he will inflict upon them the worst of torment. Woe unto Egypt, woe unto Al-Zawraa’, woe unto Kufa and woe unto Wasit, for it is as if I am looking at Wasit and I see no informer there with any news. It is at that point that Al-Sufyani will emerge, food will become scarce, people will starve, rain will be rare, lands infertile, and not a drop of water will come down from the sky. Then, Al-Mahdi the rightly guided and guiding, will emerge, and he will be the one who takes the banner from the hand of Jesus the son of Mary.”

– Al-Malahim Wal Fitan, Ibn Tawoos, v.1, p.263

SIGN OF THE END TIMES:
The Appearance of the Yamani and the Arab Spring

Imam Al-Sadiq (pbuh) was asked about when is the relief of the Shia, meaning the appearance of the Mahdi (pbuh), to which he (pbuh) responded: “…and when the Arabs take off their leaders, and when everyone with a demand raises it, and when the Sufyani and Yamani appear…Then the companion of this matter will emerge…)

– Al-Kafi, Muhammad ibn Yaqub Al-Kulaini, v.8, p.224-225, hadith 285

The Yamani is a key character prophesied to appear in the End Times calling toward Imam Al-Mahdi (pbuhahf). Imam Al-Baqir (pbuh) said:

Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (pbuh) said: “There is no banner more guided than the banner of the Yamani, it is a banner of guidance because he calls to your Companion. If the Yamani emerges then selling weapons becomes impermissible upon the people and every Muslim, and if the Yamani emerges then rise and go to him for verily his banner is a banner of guidance, and it is not permissible for any Muslim to turn away from him, whoever does so is from the people of hellfire, because he calls to the truth and to the straight path”.

– Bihar Al-Anwar, Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi, 3rd ed., v.52, p.232, hadith 96

– Al-Ghayba, Ibn Abi Zainab Al-No’mani, 1st ed., p.264, hadith 13

Imam Ahmad Al-Hassan (fhip) is the Yamani of the Family of Muhammad (pbuhahf) whose call started in 1999. His appearance coincided with another prophesied event: The Arab Spring. In 2011, a series of anti-government uprisings spread across the Arab countries, starting in Tunisia, which resulted in the ousting of longtime president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. The effects of the Tunisian revolution spread strongly across the Arab countries such as Libya, Egypt, and Yemen, resulting also in the ousting of their long-time dictators, and fulfilling the prophecy of Imam Al-Sadiq (pbuh) where he said “and when the Arabs take off their leaders”.

All of those are but only a small number of many signs of the End Times prophesied in various world religions. Remember, we are not to take any of these signs on their own. Jesus (pbuh) said:

“When you shall see all these things, know that it is near, right at the door”.

– Holy Bible: Matthew 24:33

Is it then a coincidence that every single sign has been fulfilled in this day and age? Or is it a sign from God to us that humanity is at crossroads and that the 11th hour, where change is still possible, is upon us?

Those are signs that precede both a great punishment for the deniers, and a great relief for the believers who find the Saviour and hold tight to him, just as it has always been the case with all the Prophets and Messengers who had warned their people before the punishment struck; Like Noah, Lot, and Moses (pbut). Let’s treat those signs as a warning from God, and glad tidings for the sincere truth seekers, that their awaited Saviour is here – they now have to scrutinise and research till they find him. Today we give the glad tidings to the world that the Saviour of mankind is here, the awaited Saviour whom all world religions gather and unite under, and he is Imam Mahdi (pbuh) and his Vicegerent and Messenger Imam Ahmad Al-Hassan (fhip). Only they, by the power of God, can turn things around, put an end to tyranny, corruption, and evil, and spread justice, equity, and peace. But the choice is ours to make. Will you fight them and watch the world as it descends further down the path of chaos, immorality, and destruction? Or will you join them on the path of truth and righteousness? There is still a chance to be saved, to seek refuge under the banner of truth, but there is no time to waste.

If you are reading this, know that this message was meant to reach you. God is speaking directly to you. Will you listen?
