“Congratulations to the believers in the east and west of the earth. Our oppressed brothers in Algeria have been released.” – Aba Al-Sadiq (FHIP)
After a long and arduous struggle against the Algerian authorities, the innocent believers in the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light are free.
On the 9th of November, 2022, Redouane Foufa, Cherif Mohamed Ali and Khireddine Ahman were released from prison.
21 other innocent members were also exonerated, having committed no crime.
The believers were faced with accusations of apostatizing from the religion of Islam and blamed for following the creed of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light.
On the 6th of June, 2022, Redouane Foufa, Cherif Mohamed Ali and Khireddine Ahman were taken into police custody and all members of the religion were charged.
On the 20th of September, 2022, three members of the Ahmadi Religion were sentenced to one year of prison, and the rest were sentenced to six months in prison with fines.
After appealing to the courts and demanding that a just and fair trial take place, with the support of Amnesty International, the believers of the Ahmadi Religion were successful in overturning the original sentence, and were freed.
The court has declared all members innocent of all charges.
The Algerian government are guilty of having mistreated and misjudged these innocent civilians who were peacefully exercising their constitutional right to freedom of religion.
